PAST FORWARD
THE MAGIC OF SALE

‘Past Forward’ was a photography project conducted over the 2020 lockdown. After being forced to relocate back to the suburban town in which I grew up, I took myself on long walks each day to the surrounding areas of nature along the river mersey. Through this act of walking and documentation I discovered beauty in an unlikely place while rebuilding a connection to the land that I always overlooked and rejected.

Depicting ethereal moments where the wind flows through leafless branches and shadows move across the surface of water, a place where motifs float freely and figures appear through bold yet gentle brush strokes. Through a transient visual language harnessing the earth’s muted tones and feminine symbolism, dreamlike figurations and reveries are captured on canvas.
